ABOUT ME | SOBRE MÍHello! My name is Daniel. I'm an illustrator and watercolor artist based in Tlaxcala, Mexico. I blend traditional and digital media to capture everyday moments with a warm and nostalgic sensitivity. My art is defined by a vibrant color palette and expressive linework. -J Daniel Fortiz CanalesI was born in Mexico (1989). My education background is Graphic design and I have a degree from Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla in México. Since 2018 I've worked as full time artist making illustration for children's books, magazines and comics. I have worked with clients such as Domestika, Pearson and institutions such as The Japan Foundation and The Ministry of Culture, in Mexico. My work has been published in the book “Portfolio Domestika” (2019) and selected for the “Second Pictoline Illustration Biennial” (2020).In addition to my work as a visual artist, I share my creative process through courses, workshops, and online content. I'm interested not just in creating images, but in opening up space for others to discover their own visual voice.I'm always open to discussing new projects and collaborations.

Hola, Me llamo Daniel y soy un Ilustrador y acuarelista de Tlaxcala, México. Uso medios tradicionales y digitales para contar historias y retratar la vida cotidiana mediante ilustraciones coloridas. Nací en México (1989). Estudié la Licenciatura en Diseño Gráfico por la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. Desde 2018 he trabajado como ilustrador de tiempo completo, haciendo ilustración para libros escolares, literatura infantil, revistas y comics. He trabajado con clientes como Domestika, Pearson e insituciones como La Fundación Japón y la Secretaría de Cultura en México. Mi trabajo ha sido publicado en el libro "Portfolio Domestika (2019) y seleccionado en la Segunda Bienal de Ilustración de Pictoline (2020).Siempre estoy dispuesto a escuchar nuevas propuestas de proyectos y colaboraciones.
